Tyler's Third Day of his Freshman Year

Today marks Tyler's third full day of his freshmen year in the public school system. I'm really missing home schooling now because he is having 2 to 3 hours of homework every night.  Although, I might actually learn Spanish for once and start to remember some math.  It's sad that I have a math degree and can't remember a lick of upper level math.  It will get better for him though. On top of just being there for class, he's had to remember to take care of returning every syllabus to his teachers with our signatures, getting his logins for each class on the school website, remembering to double check what homework he is supposed to do, how the after school tutoring works, what the post bell questions on the board mean in every class and other things.

Every student as well as their parents combined have to each take part in 20 hours of community service each semester.  The students can perform their service anywhere but parents have to perform their service at a school function or at a campus workday once a month.  By the end of this semester he should be pretty self sufficient when it comes to his school responsibilities.  The biggest hurdle is just getting used to a regular school day and trying to get as much work done in class a possible so as to limit the amount of homework he will have.  He is enjoying it though.
