"The Love Dare"
Our kids had never seen "Fireproof" so we watched it with them the other night. This is a very good movie with a great Christian message. Oklahoma is at the top when it comes to divorce. I find this ironic since Oklahoma is considered part of the Bible Belt. So what does that really mean? Are most of us only Christians by name? Whatever it means, it means that we don't take the covenant of marriage seriously. They are merely words. "Till death do us part," simply means until things get rough. Divorce is the easy way out. A successful marriage takes work with God as the center.
My older brother is on his third marriage and my younger brother on his second. Neither of them were dealing with issues that couldn’t be overcome. Divorce was the result. Words spoken at the alter in the presence of God fell silent and forgotten when needed the most. I often look back on the hardships that my wife and I have had to deal with through our marriage. Through the death of our first son at birth, our second son battling cancer and our daughter dealing with dyslexia, divorce was never an option. We aren't perfect but when we said the words at the alter before God, we meant them. There isn't anything you are going through in your life or marriage that God can't fix. You must however let Him in and make Him the center or your life. Regardless of what you are dealing with, God can help you. Put your faith and trust in Him and He will see you through it.
If you haven't seen "Fireproof," I would highly recommend it.
