Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie

I just recently finished watching "Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie" on Netflix.  Not having lived during the WW II era and the development on the atomic bomb, this documentary was very eye opening.  We all learned about the two bombs dropped on Japan during WW II growing up in school but I had no idea that the United States conducted so many nuclear tests in the years following.

Between 1943 and 1965, the United States conducted 331 atmospheric nuclear tests.  There were also more than 30 combined tests in Nevada and the Pacific Ocean.  These were the testing grounds for the Atomic and Hydrogen bombs.  Russia and China followed suit with their own nuclear tests.  The movie also talked about  how we started the mass production of our nuclear weapons.

Iran and North Korea have both been trying to develop a nuclear bomb for sometime now.  I can only image what would happen if either of these two countries managed to actually launch one.  I can see it being the start of WW III.  Although it would be the shortest war ever fought.  We can only hope and pray that these two countries will show restraint but it's pretty clear to me that both are on a path to destruction.

This was a very interesting movie but also frightening.  We must put our faith and trust in the Lord and pray that never again will the destructive force of a nuclear bomb be unleashed on His creation.
